It was very, very cold plus it wasn't a particularly hot day either so no one so much as dipped their feet-
In Italy actually, in the southern part of Piedmont along the border with France.
Though probably not as cold!
It was very inviting, I wished the day had been warmer so we could dip our feet without risking frostbite!
