Happy Easter... no I'm not high.

I swear I haven't been smoking anything, today is Easter at our house. We decided to celebrate Easter early because we didn’t want to spend it apart for another year running, and you know, Mohammed and mountains and whatnot, so Easter came early here.

We had fantastic weather, the husband barbecued, we lounged around in the sun, the kids played in their new dirt pit (a sandbox feels like too much hassle, and it makes no difference whatsoever to them, actually a dirt pit is better cause of all the worms), and then we went for a nice bike ride. I forewent my diet in favor of the chocolate eggs and decided not to give a crap and enjoy it.

I won’t talk about all the emotions we felt today, because I refuse to post two depressing entries in a row, but let’s just say that we managed to enjoy the day despite the ticking clock above our heads.

So I’m keeping it short and sweet today, pictures follow so click on the link if you want to see those. All I’m going to say is we enjoyed the husband’s last day home and tomorrow is another day. So there.

Starting off with our Easter barbecue. Yes, that is pineapple on the grill. No we're not really weird, it's good. Try it!

The Boy trying to get the first of their two ginormous eggs open:

The Boy and the Girl on their new fully accessorized tractor from the Easter Bunny:

And on their new electric (finally) moped from the Easter Bunny:

Cause the Easter Bunny wasn't feeling guilty at all this weekend, that's why the kids got so many cool new toys....

Though the Girl apparently is a little scared of motorized vehicles so she prefers to run after her brother on the moped rather than ride on it.

Oh, on saturday, the Girl decided to dump half a bottle of Eosin solution on her face (for those of you who've never used it, it's a bright red liquid which is totally miraculous on diaper rash, but that doesn't come off for anything but time and many, many baths). So this is her new look for the next few days:

By the way, part of her hair is also pink. I wonder how long it'll take to get out of her hair...

The Boy learned to climb our (admittedly tiny) pomegranate tree on Saturday:

And a few from a visit to the park last week (you can tell by our clothes the weather has changed):

Isn't her jacket the cutest, I wish they made them in adult sizes too, then we could match, and she'd really have something to hate me about in her tween years!

This was taken right before the Boy dumped a bucketful of sand over the Girl's head:

The whole family on the see-saw:

This is how we make our children earn their toys:

And last but not least, don't you wish you had these lashes??

Ok, all done. Updates on the husband forthcoming. For now, have a wonderful day!

  2. Love you guys! Glad you had a Happy Easter - I want to find one of those giant eggs at my house -but the Easter Bunny needs to hide it inside, because we're already in the 90's.

The picture of the kids on their tractor is a scream... were it not for the sun-shade in the parked car, it would look like the kids are driving in traffic!

Praying, wishing, throwing coins, looking for the first star each night - all of it hoping for the absolute best, easiest and quickest treatment and recovery for Alex.

  3. The girl's pink hair and face remind of the baby chicks at the feed store that are colored Easter colors! She is in full Easter theme! Hugs to you and you are in our thoughts! amy

  5. It looks like a great Easter! The girl's face made me giggle! I hope she returns to her normal color soon, although those are going to be great pictures to show her in her tween years.

  6. @Datra It DOES look like they're driving in traffic! Alex said that they looked exactly like a lot of older couples that go out and work their little fields and then ride their tractor home. Though the wife usually has some sort of kerchief in her hair, and I can't even get kiki to keep a regular baseball cap on her head.
