Saturday was an amazingly relaxing day, so I thought I’d share a few pictures.
We’ve been having some pretty crazy weather lately, some days it’s spring, then it snows for two days, then it rains and the snow melts and it’s spring again, then it snows and, well, you get the picture. So after a relatively trying week, what with all the vomit, and the girl starting daycare (more on that soon), everybody was on edge and a day at the beach was just what the doctor ordered. Plus, our schizo weather decided it was spring again, so we jumped on the bandwagon! Or on the minivan so to speak. We spent the day in Varigotti, a tiny beach town in Liguria. There’s an awful lot of pictures of my children, but really, what did you expect?!
Oh, and as usual with the picture posts, click to continue reading!

the boy was so happy to be barefoot, plus the sand was nice and warm |

Mama, where'd you go? |
|
wait, I'm coming too |
|
We found this cool boat parked on the beach and Daddy's letting us drive it! |

my attempt at an artistic shot |

it's easy to be lovey dovey when you're basking in the sun! |
|
the great thing about pebbly sand is you don't get as dirty, but unfortunately no sandcastles |
|
look Mama, a rock! |
|
Yay! or something to that effect |

Oh, and it's Carnival and we dress up our kids here, so here are the ladybug and fireman I promised:
|
In case anyone notices, the fireman is indeed wearing a Zorro belt, because he was supposed to be Zorro, but then decided at the last minute he wanted to be a fireman. That's why his costume is half-assed. So I'm not a bad mother.
Just saying. |
So cute! I love that pebbly beach with no mess. We always come home with piles of sand in everything.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day! Looks like one of those close-to-perfect moments in life when you just stop and drink it all in.
ReplyDeleteAnd what an adorable firefighter and Ladybug you've got there.
Ah, Varigotti, who knew?
Charming all around and the children are positively beaming.

Wow, I have never seen Varigotti so empty, quite beautiful. I love the last picture of the four of you, pure poetry. And don't get me started on the ladybug...
ReplyDelete@Jessica Anne, I know, I loved the pebbles, plus they were nice and warm but in the summer it's not as fun cause they get bigger as you get closer to the water so it actually really hurts if you're barefoot getting in and out of the water. But, not complaining, we had a great day!
ReplyDelete@Alcira, it was a much needed break from reality. The perfect saturday!
ReplyDelete@Nuts, and to think that the ladybug costume almost didn't make it from Houston.
ReplyDeleteIt was much admired at Auchan (did you recognize the background?!)
